The Safari Affect?

Macenstein has an interesting articla about the affects of Safari on your system. It seems only to affect Adobe apps, which is interesting, but certainly does seem to explain why things seems so lunky when I’m in Photoshop and Illustrator! Maybe FireFox will see some airing on my machine.

Environmental Formula 1?

With the start of the F1 season approaching Honda have announced their new livery. It’s meant to promote environmental awareness and such. Now I’m a big F1 fan, and I have ot admit, I find this rather ironic. A team who race cars very fast and spit out no end of pollution [...]

Black iMac?

Stumbled across this articles which talks of the possiblity of a black iMac. The mock-up certainly looks good. Also more rumours about a total refresh of all the Mac lines and rumblings of Leopard being released at the end of March. Oh how I would like to see that happen.

iPhone after all

Well it will be the iPhone after all o. Apple and Cisco have reached a settlement about the use of the name, which means that Apple can use it on their much anticipated iPhone.

Four legged duck!

This little dude is bound to win some swimming races down the local pond. He has a very rare mutation which made him grow and extra pair of legs. Apparantly he won’t survive in the wild, but I’m sure he will be able to swim away from predators quicker than the other ducks!

Screenshot

Shawn posted his own screenshot and asked for some people to link to theres. So I though why not! ha! Here you go!

It’s fairly plain so that I find it less distracting when working on the dreaded dissertation.

Political Art

It seems art can be Political too. These are fantastic visual representations of key political issues, kind of makes the issues a bit more real and less forgetable.(via)

‘Northern Lights’ Study Begins

Nasa has launched 5 satellites to study the Aurora or ‘Northern Lights’. They aim to find out more information about them and how they can affect power on the earth below them. I’ve always been fascinated by this phenomenom, would really like to go see them one day. Would quite like to [...]

One status to rule them all

In some moments of escapism from my Dissertation I have managed to setup my Twitter account to become that one status to rule them all. Finally fulfilling the role it has always threatened to do.

A while ago I told you I had a Twitter account and that I had got it showing up in [...]

Quote of The Day: Mark Lawrenson

I don’t normally do this, but I just heard a genius quote from Mark Lawrenson as he commentates on the FA Cup game between Reading and Man Utd. Commenting on the idea that Reading and Oxford (2 rivals) were in talks to merge several years ago he said:
It would be like putting King Herod [...]

Bleugh

Been feeling very rough for the last couple of days, particularly today. Now, I’m not one for stopping when I feel rough or giving in to it, so I’ve been trying to continue my work today, and will do so tomorrow. But I’m finding it very hard to concentrate on stuff, having a [...]

Music execs criticise DRM systems

More developements int he on going debate about DRM. This report shows some of the industries thoughts towards DRM, importantly it was completed before Steve Jobs made his thoughts on the matter clear.

Italy top the rankings

The new Fifa world rankings are out. Italy claim top spot from Brazil, which is understandable, and England remain unchanged in 6th. What was a surprsie to me was that Walse are 76th whilst Northern Ireland are 49th, I would’ve classed Wales as a better team than NI, but what do I know!

Top Gear: “Sweet Home Alabama!”

I tuned into Top Gear on Sunday as I normally would and watched a highly amusing, yet highly irresponsible part of the episode!

The iKitchen!

Came across this project I guy undertook to wall mount an iMac in his kitchen. It looks really smart and has been extremely well done, fantastic. I find it fascinating how people use technology in their homes, especially like this.

Oceans 13

Thye’re making another one! I’m quite looking forward to it actually, the first one was exceptional, the second was enjoyable but not quite as good. Hopefully this one will be in the same league as the first one, but if not it’s gonna be pretty darn good anyway! (via)

Fighting to Stay Awake

Fighting to Stay Awake has revealed its new suit! Shaun has released has completed his new theme, and I have to say it looks very nice. I was fortunate enough to see it a few days ago when he asked me to beta test it. I’m not sure I was that helpful [...]

9rules

I’m a little late to the party, but the 9rules re-design gives me a my.9rules profile.

I need your help!

On Monday or Tuesday, I start a new module at Uni. It’s an independant study module that requires me to come with 5 or more ideas for possible design projects. Now, open briefs are hard, briefs this open are the hardest. Basically I’m looking for ideas. If you have an idea [...]

Blog Block

The last week or so I have been trying to write my dissertation, I’ve actually made progress as well, but it’s kind of caused me to neglect writing anything meaningful up here on the blog. It’s saddened me a little, as I’ve been enjoying all things blog related recently.
The trouble has been, that as [...]
