Phone call for Mr Gray. It’s from a guy called Jobs.

Phone call for Mr Gray. It’s from a guy called Jobs.
Well, almost. It’s was from his office. Ben has been having problems getting an iMac that works. He made the “switch” a few weeks ago, but is still waiting to receive an iMac in full working order.
He was very understanding and [...]

Layer Tennis

Layer Tennis begins today. First up, Shaun Inman and Kevin Cornell duel it out.
This should be really interesting and fun to see, I’m intrigued as to how it will all pan out.

BusySync for iCal

BusySync for iCal looks like a great way to keep multiple Mac’s on the same network in Sync. The best bit, changes made away from the network are sync’d when you join it again. Looks like a perfect way to keep my iMac and iBook in sync. (via)

Devlounge, Friday Focus #47 - Shawn Blanc

Every week in my feed reader I have the Devlounge feed popup a friday focus post. I don’t really pay much attention to it occasionally checking out one of the sites to see it’s design. This week ShawnBlanc.net is one of the featured sites. Congrats Shawn, you certainly deserve it.

Rollerman

This guy is nuts! Watch the video and see him “slide”. I wanna know what kind of speed he gets up to, fast enough to over take a motorbike/moped!

iPhone Update ‘07

iPhone update September ‘07 has been released. Interesting that it’s being billed as September ‘07 update, must mean plenty more to come.

Birthday!

It’s my birthday today!! As a result there won’t be any links or posts other than this one done today.

Amazon MP3 review

John Gruber has written a concise overview of how the new Amazon MP3 store works. It looks to have a very nice way of doing things that appears to just work. I’m saddened because it’s US only at the moment. Hopefully it will hit the UK sooner rather than later.

Amazon MP3

Amazon has launched a public beta of its new MP3 download service. All the tracks are DRM free, encoded at 256kbs and being DRM free they are compatible with any MP3 player.
This looks like a promising competitor to the iTS, good news it’s DRM free as well, means more record labels maybe coming round [...]

Insanely cheap Lacie External HDD

I’m just doing a bit of research into the costs of external harddrives. Man this one is cheap!

Hacking the iPhone Notes App for the Admittedly Nit-Picky Purpose of Changing the Text Font to Helvetica

Mr. Gruber outlines the necessary steps to hack your iPhone notes app so that Helvetica is used ahead of Marker Felt. Can’t say I blame him, the Helvetica fan that I am. Beware though, when Apple release the next iPhone update, due soon, then any edits will be reset to Marker Felt.

WordPress 2.3 Arrives

WordPress 2.3 has arrived. I’ll be looking to update at some point today.

Apollo IM

It looks like someone has developed an Instant Messenger application for the iPhone. Apollo IM is now at version 1.0 and supplies IM services for AIM, .Mac, ICQ and MSN. I’m still mystified why Apple didn’t include iChat on iPhone.

exljbris - Free Quality Font Foundry

Free Fonts! I’m always on the look out for a free font. The trouble is they often don’t look that good. Exljbris, however seems to create some great looking typefaces and gives them a way free, well worth a look.

iBAM Wallpaper Contest

Brent’s started another iBAM contest. This time you can win a .Mac account and all you have to do is come up with a winning desktop. I will be netering this one, I’ve wanted to try .Mac properly for a while now.

Leopard nearly Gold

Think Secret reports that a new build of Leopard has dropped which inidactes it is nearing Gold. It’s due to drop in October at some point, all very exciting and I can’t wait to see it.

tumble.electricweekend

As previously mentioned I am testing Tumblr out and to be honest I’m quite liking it. I’m trying something out whereby I will be using Tumblr as my links/images list and Electric Weekend as the main articles place, in a similar vein to Cameron I/O and Ordered List. Before I make the jump [...]

The Impact of Design

I’ve always been aware of design and the impact it has on people’s perceptions. The more I’ve grown in my design abilities and understanding the more prevalent this notion has become. This past week I have been on a work placement at a design studio in London, and whilst going about my work [...]

iPhone in November?

Think secret is reporting the iPhone will be in UK stores in November, even though it’s expected to be announced next week. It’s a bit of a bum, but I’m not gonna be getting one till my current contract runs out in a years time. Hopefully it will be a 2G by then [...]

Back from placement

I’ve been on a work placement this week which is why there has been no activity here at Electric Weekend. I have been collecting links and what not though, so they will be filtering through in the next few days. I also hope to role out a few updates tot he site next [...]
