Wi-fi ‘milestone’ for underground

Glasgow Underground is set to trial mobile phone and Wi-Fi access.
It surprises me that this kind of thing is only just beginning to be sorted out, plans for similar access in the London Underground are also in the pipeline. It’ll certainly please the hundreds of commuters that use the tube each day.

An Ultra-Mobile future?

Interesting article on te BBC about the future of mobile computing.
It’s already clear there is a shift towards this kind of computing beginning to develop, but at least in my eyes a lot of issues need to be worked out. My main concern is the whole battery issue, we can’t yet build a mobile [...]

SteveNote Expo - the game

If you are bored waiting for the Stevenote, then check out this fun little flash game where you play the role of Apple CEO Steve Jobs on a quest to pick up all the gadgets for the Expo while avoiding all journalists!

Elmwood

Elmwood, a brand design agency have recently redesigned their website. It’s a bit of a stunner, at least in my opinion, and well it’s not really a surprise seen as how they are one of the top design studios in the UK and arguably the world. I suggest you go and take [...]

New Design

Well guys, thanks to a little hiccough when I was upgrading my Wordpress install (which I think failed!) I’ve been forced to activate my newly designed theme slightly early. The problem was most likely my fault, the update was the first time I had used Transmit to upgrade and for whatever reason it decided [...]

The Untold Story: How the iPhone Blew Up the Wireless Industry

Awesome article about the creation of the iPhone. I found it fascinating to discover just how secret the project was, and that it came close to running Linux. Still it’s kind of no surprise when I think about it!

Copying CDs could be made legal

MP’s are set to decide if the law should be changed to make “ripping” CD’s to your computer legal.
Seems like it might be a good idea considering most people already do it! Me included, and I only rip the ones I own not friends.

Here’s Looking At You

Fascinating video whereby people comment on first impressions of other people.
Really fascinating to see how some people appear to be influenced a great deal by social stereotypes, whilst others take a moment and seem to read deeper into what they think the person is like. One guy in particular interested me as he made [...]

Ultimate Leopard Tweaking Guide at Appletell

Great list of Leopard tweaking apps. I’ll be checking some of these out once I get my Leopard installs, I like the look of the stack overlay app for distinguishing between stacks.

Real Racers Use Gran Turismo!

Back in the days when I used to play my PlayStation (the original grey one!) my favourite game was Gran Turismo. I used to really enjoy playing it as it felt like I was actually driving a racing car when compared to some other racing games. It seems the pro’s like to use [...]

Blogging Is Blogging

I’ve been wanting to sit down and blog for a while now, and I’ve had that age old problem of not knowing where to start. As I sat here trying to think about why I’m having trouble blogging, the thought came to me that until I started to use the offline blogging tool MarsEdit [...]

The War Over Blu-Ray

Warner Brothers side with Blu-Ray in the battle of the Hi-Def formats. I’ve not really paid much attention to this whole battle that has been raging, but all the same I’m not surprised that Blu-Ray appears to be winning. Maybe this time next year I’ll be buying a Blu-Ray player, unless Apple do [...]
