(Re)Present

Having been back from uni for a couple of weeks now I have started working at the old hardware store I worked in when I was 16. I now feel its time to assess some of the other bits and bobs to do over my summer. Mainly in the world of design. [...]

Home, with direction!?!

Having got to the end of my 2nd year at uni I now find myself at home for the summer.  Its been an interesting last term and even more interesting being back home.  The transition from being at uni to being at home is quite strange.  Obviously its nice to see parents and friends, but [...]

Design, Me and this Site

Over the next couple of weeks you may experience a bit of funkiness on the site, so I am apologising for this in advance. As you may have noticed already I am beginning to tinker with the appearance of it and I will start to integrate my Portfolio. I am starting to get [...]

Summer Ball 2006

It’s the Summer Ball here today at Uni.  Last years affair was quite good but lacked a bit of good music, we had The Goldie Looking Chain play here alst year, which to be honest is a bit of a disappointment.  This year is to be a different story.  After getting over the initial disappointment [...]

A few questions - part 2

A few weeks ago I made a post with some questions regarding a project I have to do at uni. Well I had a good response, I hoped for a few more from people I don’t know or who are non-christian, but all the same it has been interesting reading your comments. I [...]

Placement: The Review

Overall I throughly enjoyed my placement. It has confirmed to me that I am in the right industry and that I am going to be doing something that I enjoy. Particularly pleasing was that Dinesh seemed to genuinly appreciate the work I had done over the two weeks, and that one of my [...]

Placement: Day 8 & 9

Well the last two days of placement were really quite enjoyable. Day 8 was spent adding text into Brochures already designed and generating some logo identities for a horse trainer. Now this doesn’t sound very interesting or enjoyable but working in InDesign was quite good, as I wasn’t really designing my own stuff [...]

Placement: Day 6 & 7

Firstly, apologies for yesterday. I went to make a post of the events of yesterdays placement only to find that my site wasn’t working. It appears that my hosts database server seemed to be down as all is working today. Anyway on with the post, which will be a double of todays [...]

Self Branding

This first week of placement and a few articles on blogs around the interenet has made it clear to me the importance of self branding for a Graphic Designer, particularly for a younger designer trying to find his feet in the world of design. So, I’m setting myself a bit of a mini brief, [...]

Placement: Day 5

The last day of the first week.
That was quite a satisfying sentence to write. Don’t get me wrong I’m not counting it down because I hate it, more because I can’t be doing this getting up early malarky and want a holiday. On the whole though I am enjoying it. Spent the [...]

Placement: Days 3 & 4

So yesterday I didn’t do a post as I was busy in the evening. We went to the pub and watched the footy since Dave is an Arsenal fan and wanted to watch it. As a result today I will cover yesterday as well as today.
So yesterday was ok. A bit boring, [...]

Placement: Day 2

So the second day of placement went well as well. I got set another project to run some ideas up for. Its for a Landscape Garden Design company, its a bit of a challenge particularly as they have not sent any information about the company. I have done a few ideas but [...]

Placement: Day 1

So today was my first day of my two week placement at Montpellier Creative. It started with a rediculously early start, I mean 7.30am!?!? what’s that about?? We arrived on time and spent the morning waiting for us to be told what to do. Eventually we were set a brief, which we [...]

Placement

I have just decided that when I start my two week placements on Monday I will start a series of posts to document it on-line. I have to do a document of it for my course anyway so I figured I would add it in. Expect to see a lot of content on [...]

A few questions.

I have a project I am doing. It would be great if you guys could help me with it. If you could take a few minutes to answer these questions as best you can it would be great.
Who, what or where gives you hope??
Was there any point in time when you had [...]

Concentration.

I seem to have the shortest concentration span in the world at the moment. I don’t seem to be able to concentrate on anything for more than 5 minutes. It stupid!! I feel creative, I feel like drawing/designing something but I just can’t seem to settle on anything. I mean I [...]

Weekends.

I went upto to Sheffield for the weekend as it was Emma’s birthday party. Emma is a friend of Ruth’s from home so its a bit odd, but it was cool. Had quite a good time. We drove (well I drove and Ruth sat in the passenger seat) up on the Friday [...]

The Zoo.

Ok, so today was our first random day trip. It was good, I really enjoyed myself. We had a really good day. It started off stupidly early at my house, but was soon made better with a McDonalds breakfast (not healthy I know, but we felt it was a good idea to [...]

Interesting.

It’s been an interesting weekend.
Friday was a lot of fun. My cell group, Friday night Cell(FNC) went to the Friday night Church(also FNC) and came third. We beat the other two CU teams and enjoyed a free hot chocolate as our prize.
Saturday was also nice. I went to “The Study” to watch [...]

It’s Back!!!!

Yep, my voice its back. It’s done its little holiday trip, dunno where it went, it’s refusing to tell me, maybe it took Ruth’s voice on holiday as hers has now come back as well. Or not, which is most likely, but most importantly its back. Its recovering slowly and growing in [...]
